Undated (KROC AM News) - The winter storm that swept into Minnesota this week has moved on but not before dumping more than a foot of snow in some northern parts of the state on Thursday.

The heaviest snow fell in the northeastern corner of Minnesota.

Snowfall reports submitted to the National Weather Service include 19.2 inches in the McGregor area and 18 inches in Finland. Duluth received 12.2 inches, a record for the date. Brainerd also received a foot while Moorhead reported 11 inches.

Mostly rain fell in SE Minnesota as temperatures remained above freezing Thursday.

The Rochester airport recorded about 8-tenths of an inch of precipitation Thursday while other reports from Olmsted County were around an inch.

A shot of cold air is moving in behind the storm but warmer weather should return Sunday before another round of mixed precip is expected Monday.
