Here are five great places to visit on hot days to beat the heat!

If you want to escape the sun and heat of a summer day, The Rochester Recreation Center has a ton of activities for you! With a pool, a gym, and even an ice rink, the Rec Center is a place of interest! Definitely keep an eye on their schedule online to see when events are going on.

If you love a good challenge, love puzzles, or just simply like the thought of being locked in a room, this is the place for you! While this will take some advance planning and four or more people, you should definitely look into the Escape room with either your friends and family! We even had some staff try it out when it first opened up, and since then they have updated the place with another challenge! Less than 8% of the groups that have tried it have been able to complete the challenge. How will your team fare?

3: Bowling

There isn’t much better way to get out of the heat than the sport of bowling, and Rochester has the pleasure of having two bowling alleys! With Bowlocity and Colonial Lanes, the options are great. Bowlocity has a huge arcade and a laser tag arena, while Colonial Lanes has night time bowling with glow in the dark lanes. Both are offering free bowling for kids over the summer, too!

4: Movies

Movies are a great ways to pass time, and this summer is packed with many blockbuster hits! Have you watched a movie on Cinemagic's 'Super Screen' - It's a panoramic set-up using three screens and it's awesome!

5: Rock Climbing

Rochester is lucky because it has two options for Rock Climbing, Roca Climbing & Fitness, and Prairie Walls Climbing. Both have nice rates and are willing to show you the ropes if it’s your first time climbing.

With so many fun things to do, the possibilities are endless!  How do you beat the heat? Let us know in the comment section below.
