Here are a few tips to avoid blowing your diet, BUT still have a delicious Thanksgiving meal!

The average American will eat anywhere from 2,500 to 4,500 calories on Thanksgiving (FOR ONE MEAL)!

1. Instead of sweet potato casserole with marshmallows, make baked sweet potatoes. You can top them off with brown sugar and pecans, and it will still be AMAZING! Not to mention, it will save you over 400 calories!

2. It's not your year casseroles! Make green beans instead of green bean casserole. Even if you put butter and fried onions on top, it'll still save you about 150 calories.

3. You can make lower-calorie stuffing simply by replacing the whole milk with fat-free buttermilk (and half the butter you typically use). Fitness pal promises it still tastes good, and will get 90 fewer calories per serving.

4. Serve pumpkin pie instead of pecan pie. It blew my mind that swapping a certain pie would matter, but no lie it saves you over 500 calories! A slice of pecan has about 800 calories, and a slice of pumpkin has about 270.

5. Instead of dark meat, eat white meat without the skin. You can buy whole turkey breasts instead of a full turkey, and it'll save you about 50 calories per serving.
