When you start earlier and just buy little by little, it won't feel like such a hit on the wallet. Start checking the clearance aisles!

    Set up Deal Alerts!

It may suck to have your email flooded with alerts from stores, BUT when that big coupon pops up, it'll make it all worth it!

    Sell Stuff You Don't Need

We have some great stores in town that will give you cash for things you DON'T need! Plato's Closet will pay cash on the spot for clothes, Pawn America will take pretty much anything, and Saver's gives you a 20% off coupon for your next purchase. Speaking of Saver's, thrift shop it up this year.

    Make Your Own Gifts

Not only is this fun, it's a great idea! Homemade gifts are awesome and much more meaningful. I made a stellar canvas last Christmas. It cost WAY less than one you'd have to order. You can always check out Pinterest in Real Life for GREAT gift ideas.

    Host Pot Luck Holidays

This is definitely going to come in handy for me this year. I own a house now, so we are hosting Thanksgiving AND Christmas. Having everybody bring something to pass around will not only save you money, it'll take some of that stress off your plate!
