We know about the big ones like McDonald's and BK, but check out this list of our 50 states ranked by fast food made famous by 'em!

Thrillist.com came up with the list, basing a state's ranking by the number of chains that started there, number of different chains and quality of the chains that have locations there. If you've been to Texas, than it's no surprise that they took the #1 spot. Steamed burgers from "Whataburger" and the deliciousness that is "Schlotzsky's" are Texas originals, plus they have alotta the big ones, too, like In-N-Out, Sonic and Wisconsin's Culver's. (I'm a Church's Chicken and Jack in the Box guy myself)

California took the #2 spot, and it's all about quantity. An impressive amount considering that McDonald's, Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, In-N-Out, A&W, Hot Dog on a Stick, and Wienerschnitzel ALL started in Cali!

So where did we in the Midwest come in?

Minnesota ranked 27th thanks for the Twin Cities mini-chain "Dino’s Gyros." D’Amico & Sons Italian and Green Mill get mentioned, too.

Iowa came in at #35 because of the mind-boggling amount of Arby's. They also got mentions for Culver's and Shake N' Stake.

Which leads us to our fatties to the east: Wisconsin. They ranked 19th! Having the gut-busting beauty that is the Butter Burger bodes well for the Badger State, since it's the home of Culver's. They got love for Chicago-inspired food joints, as well as the notable fact that last year they produced 2,842,456,000lbs of cheese.
