Gov. Mark Dayton requested all personalized license plates be reviewed after a plate with “FMSLMS” sparked outrage on social media.

There are over 95,000 personalized plates in Minnesota and 51 were flagged. The investigation is ongoing and the state hasn't released any specifics, but WCCO dug a little deeper and found these examples:

  • SEXTOY
  • COPH8R
  • BADBTCH
  • STFU
  • VIBR8TR
  • SEXMCHN
  • GOTWOOD

What kind of D-Bag gets SEXTOY?  Who the heck approved COPH8R? GOTWOOD would be kind of funny if the vehicle belonged to a lumberyard owner; otherwise, it's pretty lame.

State officials will be contacting the 51 drivers whose plates were flagged seeking an explanation. They say it's likely that some will be revoked once the state's investigation is complete.
