Undated (KROC-AM News)  - The Albert Lea Police Department says an eight-year-old girl died Saturday from injuries she suffered when she was struck by a car.

The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. Initial report indicated the girl was riding a bicycle when she was struck by a vehicle driven by a 70-year-old Albert Lea man. The name of the young victim and the name of the driver of the car have not been released.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to a fatal motorcycle crash in Goodhue County Saturday afternoon. A preliminary report from the State Patrol indicates a 55-year-old Oakdale woman was killed and a 55-year-old man from Madelia was transported to St. Mary’s hospital with serious injuries after the Harley-Davidson they were riding left southbound 61 and struck a road sign just before 3:30 PM. The deadly crash occurred south of Red Wing near a county road known as the Welch shortcut.

A three-vehicle crash in east-central Minnesota claimed the lives of two motorcyclists Saturday afternoon. The State Patrol says the victims, 35-year-old Colin Orth and 35-year-old Sara Orth of Milaca, were on a motorcycle driven by Colin Orth that went over the center-line on a highway near North Branch and collided with a minivan headed in the opposite direction and then collided with another vehicle in the oncoming lane. No one in the other vehicles was seriously injured in the crash, which occurred around 3 PM.
