It doesn't get anymore American than this!

Army veteran Jason Galvin was making a routine trip into Rush City, Minnesota to get some minnows to go fishing with, when suddenly he spotted something out of sorts, hanging from a tree. It was a bald eagle!

The bird’s leg was caught in a piece of rope that was wrapped around a branch, about 70 feet off the ground... Someone had to do something about it, and fortunately for the eagle, someone did!

After getting the go-ahead from the DNR, Galvin, who has served two tours in Afghanistan and is a sharp-shooter, took aim and ultimately freed the bird.

What a cool story to share after the Independence Day holiday weekend!
