Looks like there could soon be another choice to both fuel up and grab lunch in Kasson.

That's because a new Casey's General Store is apparently on the way-- and could be ready to start serving up some their famous pizza by this time next summer, if not earlier.

This ABC-6 News story says that the Casey's General Store chain is looking at building a new 6-pump store, complete with indoor seating, at a location on Mantorville Avenue South, between Shopko and the Domino's Pizza location.

If all goes well, the chain said the new convenience store should be up and running by next summer. The story noted the chain likes the Kasson location because of its proximity and access to the always-busy Highway-14.

The Casey's General Stores chain is based in Des Moines, Iowa, and is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. Their corporate website said the very first Casey's opened in Boone, Iowa, in 1959 and got its now-familiar name from founder Don Lamberti's friend, Kurvin C. Fish's initials. (There's your K and C right there! I always wondered about where the name 'Caseys' came from-- now you know!)
