A Ton of Minnesota’s Unclaimed Property is About to Get Auctioned Off

If you love finding treasure at bargain prices this online auction might be worth checking out. The Minnesota Department of Commerce is launching an online auction full of unclaimed property from abandoned safe deposit boxes. According to the press release the auction will feature jewelry, coins and collectible items, including a Joe Montana rookie sports card and vintage John Deere toy tractors. In the same press release Commerce Commissioner Jessica Looman said, "“The online auction is an efficient method to reach a much larger audience of potential bidders and secure the highest market price for these items.This is important because the sale proceeds are held in trust to be claimed by the original property owners or their rightful heirs.”
