Hastings, MN (KROC-AM News) - An Albert Lea man has had 58 months added to his prison sentence because of his involvement in a fatal drug overdose.

27-year-old Dustin Chenevert recently pleaded guilty to a second degree manslaughter charge for supplying the methadone that led to the overdose death of Colton Poplow. The 18-year-old Albert Lea man was found dead in a South St. Paul hotel in late February of last year and investigators were able to trace the lethal dose of the narcotic to Chenevert.

Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom’s office prosecuted the case while Chenevert was already in prison for a felony drunk-driving conviction.
