The Minnesota Department of Public Safety is reporting that nearly 17,000 speeding tickets were issued during an enforcement campaign last month.

The Rochester Police Department reported that its officers participating in the crackdown issued 94 tickets for speed violations, while the Olmsted County Sheriff's Department issued 244 speeding citations between July 10th and July 27th.

Statewide, 14 of the speeders nabbed during the enforcement campaign were clocked at over 100 mph and the top speed was 125 mph.
