Always Craving Sweets? There’s a Reason!
I had one of those “ah huh!!” moments when I read this story. So you’re saying I’m NOT craving ice cream JUST BECAUSE I had a bad day. Here’s a list of the most common cravings and the meaning behind them.
- YOU CRAVE: CHOCOLATE
WHAT IT MEANS: Chocolate is rich in magnesium, so you could be lacking the mineral that is vital for your skin and hair.
- YOU CRAVE: ICE CREAM
WHAT IT MEANS: Craving ice is sometimes a sign you have anemia and your body needs iron- possibly because the ice helps relieve painful inflammation from anemia.
- YOU CRAVE: SWEETS
WHAT IT MEANS: You could be lacking chromium, the mineral that works with insulin to move glucose from the blood into the cells of the body.
- YOU CRAVE: MEAT
WHAT IT MEANS: Craving meat can be a sign your body needs iron, but may also mean you’re low on zinc, which plays an important role in immune function.
- YOU CRAVE: CHEESE
WHAT IT MEANS: If you find yourself craving Cheddar on everything, you could well be low in the bone-building mineral calcium.
- YOU CRAVE: CARBS
WHAT IT MEANS: Constant carb cravings can be a sign you’re low in the amino acid tryptophan helps your brain to make serotonin, which helps to regulate your mood.
