Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) -There was a police chase in Rochester Thursday night that began near Cub Foods and ended near a southwest church.  

An Olmsted County deputy who was on DUI patrol tried to pull over a car for a traffic violation around 11 p.m. near 12th Street and 15th Avenue SE. The driver took off and the chase made its way to near the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in the 500 block of 20th Street Southwest. That’s where the driver bailed and fled on foot. He was not located. A search of the vehicle turned up a small amount of methamphetamine.

Officers later went to a northwest Rochester home where the registered owner of the car lives. The man said the car had been stolen. He was taken into custody when it was learned he was wanted on a warrant.
