Rochester residents have been very lucky this year. Several residents of the Med-City have won huge prizes with the Minnesota Lottery this year!

Lizabeth Burgess of Rochester is the latest big winner! She won $50,000 by playing Powerball®. The sixth line on her nine-line quick-pick ticket was matched the winning numbers drawn on July 27. Burgess claimed the prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville on Aug. 22.

Lizabeth purchased her winning ticket at the Kwik Trip, located on 2nd St. S.W. in Rochester.

Lottery players have won more than $6.5 billion. More than $2.6 billion in lottery proceeds have helped our state—more than $1 billion has helped preserve, restore and protect Minnesota’s environment in each of the 87 counties and almost $1.5 billion has helped fund state programs including education, public safety and health & human services.
