Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Webster, Wisconsin woman is scheduled to be sentenced in early August in another case involving the theft of money from an elderly resident of Olmsted County.

54-year-old Debra Hitchcock-Gale entered an Alford plea Tuesday to a charge of financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult. The plea means she does not admit guilt, but acknowledges there is sufficient evidence to convict her of the charge.

The criminal complaint says Hitchcock-Gale  had been granted power of attorney to take care of the finances of a family member with severe Alzheimer’s disease and was accused of taking money and selling property worth $226,000 over a 2 ½ year period beginning in January 2012. It was alleged some of the money was used for gambling at a number of casinos.

***Previous story stated Hitchcock-Gales had pleaded guilty without reference to the use of Alford plea.
