Because of two reported muggings behind the Mayo Civic Center this week, the Rochester Police Department’s street crimes unit set up surveillance at the site last night and ended up making an arrest - but it’s not clear if it’s related to the earlier robberies.

A spokesman says officers spotted two men get into a confrontation around 8 o’clock.  One of the men threatened the other with a beer bottle and then pulled out a gun.  That’s when the officers moved in.  They discovered the weapon was actually a BB gun but arrested the man on terroristic threats and felony assault charges.  The other man was not hurt.
