I kept hearing about this new place called Pasquale's Neighborhood PizzeriaSeveral of my friends had already been to this new hot spot and raved about the deliciousness of the authentic New York style pizza being dished up. In my "worldly" travels, I have never had this type of pizza before so one evening a friend and I decided to swing by.

We walked into an open, very cool hip dining area. Louis (he's a buddy of Pasquale who moved  from NY to Rochester to help him out. Apparently he's the best of the best when it comes to making NY style pizza) was at the counter ready to take our order. He was sporting an NYPD hat. He asked us what wanted and we didn't really know what we wanted. So I asked him to make whatever he'd like. After shooting off several ingredients as suggestions while we nodded eagerly, he started whipping up the pizza.

I asked if Pasquale was around so I could meet him and get some photos. Someone went to the back to go get him. He came out of the kitchen with this huge smile on his face and heavy NY accent, just like Louis. Pasquale and I are Facebook friends but had never met in person. That didn't make a difference. As soon as he walked up, it was like you were immediately part of the family. He ushered me to the kitchen so I could check out the dough-making. He had one of the pastry chefs back there too. The ingredients are the absolute finest. The dough is made fresh too.

After a few pics and lots of smiles, we were seated and waited for my pizza. When it came out I could not believe the amount of pizza. It was HUGE. Largest pizza I had ever seen. Layers upon layers of cheese coated the golden crust to perfection. Topping the pizza was a delectable colorful combination of tomatoes, spinach and zucchini. I took one bite and immediately knew that I was gonna have to take some more bites. It was so good.

Pasquela's Neighborhood Pizzeria is a great new addition to our community. It's within walking distance of Downtown Rochester. I also appreciated how welcoming the entire staff was and it felt like a great family spot too. I can't wait to take my kids, they love pizza!
