Rich Peterson

I began my radio career in North Platte, Nebraska (KAHL) in July 1974. From there it was Burlington, Colorado (KNAB). Clinton, Missouri (KDKD), Omaha, Nebraska (KFAB), then Rochester in 1983 until 1990 when I worked in Rapid City, South Dakota (KKKMK & KKLS) for almost 9 years. In the fall of 1999, I came back and have been at KROC AM ever since! Thank you for listening! I grew up in Richfield, graduated from Richfield High School ('71) and went to the University of Minnesota and then Brown Institute in 1973. My wife Nancy and I have been married since 1979 and we have three great kids, two boys and one girl. Scott, the oldest, is living and working in Hamburg, Germany. Tim and his family live in Byron, while Kaitlyn and her family live in Rochester. Two awesome grandkids (Zoey and Jack) keep us hopping when they visit. I'm a huge Gopher fan and have been since I was old enough to know better in 1959. I had an uncle who played football for the Gophers in 1941. I was recruited to play baseball at the U, but soon realized (by mutual agreement) that maybe radio was my better option... I also, of course, love the Vikings, Twins and any pro team from Minnesota. I am the P.A. announcer for the Rochester Honkers baseball team, occasionally do some announcing for the local high schools (you name the sport, I've called it!), help out at Apollo Liquor (you name the wine, I've sold it!) and do some "medical acting" at the Mayo Clinic (you name the disease or personality disorder, I've had it!) Rochester has so much to offer and it just gets better everyday!

This is when a student doesn't have enough lunch money and a school will take away a child's hot food and replace it with an alternative lunch which could include milk and a cheese sandwich, or sometimes no lunch at all...
