Training is normal when you're in the sports world, but weird accidents that cause serious injuries are not that common. But percentages went against Philadelphia Phillies 22-year-old pitching prospect Matt Imhof, who lost his right eye while using a resistance band that was attached to a wall.

The metal base that was attached to the wall broke off, and sent a piece flying through the air, bouncing off a wall, and striking Matt in the face according to Matt Gleb of Philly.com.

Imhof posted a photo of himself in the hospital after his various procedures with a statement, as seen below.

Imhof was the 47th pick in 2014 for the Phillies. He was recently moved to the Phillies Minor League  ball club, the Clearwater Threshers, and boasted a 3.19 ERA in his 14 appearances this season.
