Do you love superheroes? Would you like to be one to children around the world who lack basic necessities such as food, water, access to health care, and educational opportunities?

Well, now you can assist some superheroes in their quest to help these children!

The first ever Disney-Avengers Half Marathon will be held at Disneyland on Sunday, November 17th. Runners from across the country will be running clad as their favorite Avengers characters. Townsquare Rochester's own Eric Shoars, a longtime fan of both superheroes and running, will be one of those running the race.

Eric, and his assembled team of superheroes, will be running as part of team Save The Children, an international non-governmental organization that promotes children's rights, provides relief and helps support children in developing countries

“Superheroes captured my imagination from an early age," Eric says. "When I was a kid one of the dreams I had would be that one day they’d make an Avengers movie so I’d be able to see the comic book characters come off the page and into ‘real life’. Never did I think back then there would be an Avengers race, let alone my running as an Avenger."

You can help Eric and his team by supporting them with a donation. The money you help them raise will help improve the lives of children worldwide!
