The school year is quickly approaching, and hundreds of exchange students will be in need of a place to live when they come to study right here in the U.S. Have you ever considered being a host parent?

"Each year, nearly 1,100 teenagers, age 15-18, come to the U.S. through PAX for a semester or academic year. They attend high schools, live with volunteer host families, and change lives" according to the PAX website.

When I was in high school, we had an awesome exchange student from New Zealand. Not only are they getting a once in a lifetime experience, but so are the other students. Being around someone from a different country makes one inquisitive. It also made me want to travel more, and learn that there is so much more out there - It's a different way of learning, instead of looking at a map or pictures online.
