Help Area Law Enforcement Officer Mark Belisle
There's a family in our community that needs our help.
A few years ago, after we brought my son home from Ukraine, we got to be part of Shop With a Cop at Wal-Mart with the Rochester Police Athletic/Activities League. We were partnered with Officer Mark Belisle. It was a great experience for all of us.
Mark's pretty active here in our community. He's not the kind of guy to stand by when others need his help.
Now he needs our help. I think we're all a lot like Mark. We don't just stand by when our family, friends, co-workers or neighbors find themselves in need of assistance.
On October 4th, 2015, Mark began experiencing flu-like symptoms, severe headaches, loss of eyesight and had trouble speaking. Mark was hospitalized and doctors found several brain hemorrhages likely caused by blood thinners used after his heart valve replacement. A rare bacterial infection was confirmed, antibiotics introduced as a mass on his artificial valve was discovered and eventually surgery (Craniotomy) was completed to stop the bleeds.
