Yesterday I blogged about being sick AGAIN and shared some remedies that I found on Pinterest. I then asked our listeners what "At Home Remedies" they would recommend. Some of those were very strange and involved everything from black berry brandy to onions.

I tried tea with honey and lemon. Result: Temporary relief of cough. I also tried Nyquil on my feet. Result: Cold feet and cough still annoying.  I MAY try the onion trick tonight - fingers crossed!

Here's some of my favorites from listeners:

Alisha Mohs- Cut up some onion & put them in your socks while you sleep. Yes, crazy, I know, but it's the fastest way to detox your body. Whenever I feel a sinus infection or brutal hangover or anything actually, I put onions in my socks before bed and I wake up feeling completely sinus/hangover/whatever my ailment - FREE! Just make sure you wash your feet before you go out in public. I'm totally serious, it works for me!

Nathan Nord- Mince up a clove of raw garlic, put it in a cup of water, two minutes and 30 seconds in the microwave. Put one green tea bag in and steep for 10 minutes. Drink all of it, garlic pieces and all. I'd do two in a row tonight. Then one in the morning and one at night. It definitely knocks your illness down. I throw in a cup of echinacea tea during the day for an immune system boost as well. Keep up on the vitamin C, zinc and magnesium as well. Cacao nibs or goji berries are a good way. Get well soon!!

Karen Cady Davis- Essential Oils --- I put one in my neti pot too! Got me over the crud super fast with no infection.....AMAZING! Cause I usually always end up on antibiotics for sinus infect...except now I use these oils!

Melissa Almer- hot toddies some jack (as in daniels), water, and some honey. Warmed in the microwave. Great for your cough. It won't help your stomach, but if you drink enough of them you won't care.

Sue Johnson Flemke- Let me add some things that have helped. Smoothies with fresh pineapple, oranges, lemon, ginger and cilantro. It sounds weird but tastes good. Also, I started taking vitamin c, vitamin a and chlorella powder in capsules. I think this all helped.

Megan Page- My mother in law swears by garlic and if you cut an onion in half and place it on your night stand. I personally have never tried it but she is all about home remedies and no medication.
