Feeling a little under the weather this morning? There's a new survey that has compiled the top excuses for calling in sick to work. Of 2,500 employers and employees polled for the survey, the top two excuses involved staying close to home and the bathroom. 72.9% called in sick for vomiting, while 71% called in sick with diarrhea. Hope you're not enjoying a meal or a snack while you're reading this.

There is an excuse most employers won't buy: mental health. According to the survey, two-thirds of employers asked do not believe stress, anxiety or depression to be a valid enough reason to call in sick - even though it affects one in four employees a year! Yeah, that mental health day you want to take? You're probably better off calling it a, "rumbly in your tumbly", so you can curl up under a blanky and binge-watch Friends on Netflix. Not that I've ever done anything like that, or would endorse or promote that kind of thing...you haven't either, have you?
