A terminally ill Star Wars fan was just granted his dying wish.

Daniel Fleetwood has terminal cancer and in September he was told by his doctor that he likely only had one or two months to live. While accepting his fate, he was bummed out that he would not live to see the new "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" movie when it is released in December.

That's when family and friends started a social media campaign (#forcefordaniel) trying to get a private screening for Daniel before the film's release. Even some of the stars of the film, including Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) rallied around the campaign. And it worked. On Thursday, Disney and Lucasfilms set up a private screening for Daniel at his Texas home. His wife thanked director JJ Abrams for helping to grant Daniel's wish.

She also left a message for everyone on her Facebook page that simply said "May the force be with you all!"
