Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  Rochester police are investigating a break-in at a northwest home that occurred while the owner was in bed sleeping.

The man says he heard a noise in another room around 7:30 a.m. Thursday, shortly after other family members had left. The homeowner says he then heard a potted plant being knocked over and when he went to check, saw a strange man standing there. The burglar jumped out a screened window he had cut to gain entry and ran off emptyhanded.

The homeowner was not able to get a good description of the suspect.

The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of 20th Ave. NW.
