The Department of Public Safety has apologized and called the approval of these plates an “error.”

A spokesperson said they were made aware of the offensive plates when an image was sent to them this morning.

The department issued this statement to bringmethenews.com: “This personalized license plate should never have been issued; it is offensive and distasteful."

The plates, which were approved and issued in June of 2015, in Foley, Minnesota, will be revoked today.

The Department of Public says The Driver and Vehicle Services Division will be examining the process by which they approve personalized license plates.
