Barnes & Noble is trying something different to entice their customers through its doors: Booze.  And Minnesota will be one of the first places to get a crack at it.

As if Barnes & Noble wasn't one of the greatest places on earth already!

The company made the announcement late last week, saying it’ll start with four concept stores.  One of which will be in the Twin Cities, at the Edina Galleria.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the new cafes will be twice as big as a regular store.  And in addition to beer and wine options, it’ll offer an extended menu with breakfast, lunch and dinner options as well.

So when can we expect to order our first cocktail or ice cold beer at the Barnes & Noble bar?

Well, a news release says the first one will open in Eastchester, New York this October, with the others set to open in Folsom, California and Loudon, Virginia around the same time.

The Edina store in the Galleria will open sometime after, but just before the holidays hit, says the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Considering how well the Hy-Vee Market Grilles have been received since their launch last year, I would think that it wouldn't take very long for Rochester to experience this new wave of Barnes & Noble stores with built in bars.
