Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - For the first time this season, the Rochester area may experience areas of frost Saturday morning.

Overnight temperatures are expected to drop into the mid 30’s by sunrise, the coldest since mid May. Warmer weather will return Monday.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory Friday for central and northern St. Louis County in northeast Minnesota due to a threat of snow.

The Weather Service advisory indicated up to an inch could fall. Light snow was reported in Cook, Ely, Hibbing and other areas before sunrise but totals were apparently less than an inch.
