This is absolutely amazing!

The health benefits of breast milk have long been touted, and I'm truly thankful every day that my wife was able to produce enough milk for our daughter for her first year of life.

But now, scientists at Lund University in Sweden may have accidentally found a cure for cancer with it while the team was researching antibiotics.

Let me repeat that: BY ACCIDENT.

They were doing some research and needed bacteria and human cells, so they used tumor cells (from humans) and some human breast milk. That's when they realized that something in the breast milk was not only killing the bacteria, but also the cancer cells in the tumor!

The substance, which they nicknamed 'Hamlet', goes after cancer cells while leaving the healthy cells untouched, and that means it would be much more gentle than chemotherapy. You can read more about what it does HERE.

According to Yahoo!, scientists hope the breast milk compound could also help bowel and cervical cancer patients. Those scientists have also done some clinical trials, and are planning to do more.

While there's still a lot of work to be done, this looks so promising!
