Fort Myers, FL (KROC-AM News) - A Blooming Prairie woman who faces a possible death sentence in Florida made a brief appearance today before a judge in Lee County, where she faces first-degree murder charges stemming from the shooting death of a Florida woman in a Fort Myers condominium in early April. The killing led to a nationwide manhunt and the eventual capture of 56-year-old Lois Riess in Texas.

No major issues were decided during today's hearing and Riess was sent back to jail until she has another court appearance in January.

She has yet to be charged, but Riess accused of murdering her husband in their rural Blooming Prairie home in late March.
