Rochester,MN ( KROC AM News) - At least four people have died in traffic wrecks in southeast Minnesota since Friday.

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Department says a man who crashed a pickup truck into two trees in Welch Township around 3 p.m. Friday later died. He has been identified as 32 year old Nathaniel Long of Welch.

Two people were killed Friday night near Zumbrota when the vehicle they were in went through the median of Highway 52 and was struck by two semi-trucks.

A woman who was injured in an unusual traffic accident Saturday in Houston County later died.

The State Patrol says 52 year old Teresa Erickson was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by her 59 year old husband Dale.They were a few miles west of La Crescent around 9 a.m. Saturday when their vehicle was hit by a large bale of hay that fell off a truck.The Erickson vehicle crashed into a ditch and caught fire.

The Ericksons were taken to Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse with serious injuries.A hospital spokeswoman said Monday morning that Mrs. Erickson died on Saturday and her husband was still listed in critical condition.

A  Winona State student was killed late Friday night in a wreck on I-94 in Hudson, Wisconsin.  He has been identified as 22 year old Dustin Kadlec.  His car crashed into a semi-truck that had stopped on the shoulder for mechanical reasons.  The Winona college says Kadlec was a senior who was from Woodbury, Minnesota.

There were at least two more traffic fatalities reported to the State Patrol early Sunday, both in the Twin Cities area.
