Turn on some tunes to change its taste.

At least, that’s the conclusion of researchers in Belgium who found that your brain, ears, and even your taste buds can all contribute to the experience you have with your beer.

The team conducted three experiments.  In each one, different participants tasted the same beer twice, only they weren't told it was the same.  At each tasting, a different kind of music was played, and the participants had to mark down what the beers tasted like.

For example, when the music in the study was a high-pitched, "Disney-style" tune, the beer drinkers thought each beer was a little sweeter.  Music that seemed a little slower with heavy bass made taste-testers perceive bitterness in their brews.

Interesting!  This might also explain why going to a bar or club with heavy bass might make you feel more drunk than you actually are?

You can give the "sweet" and "bitter" soundscapes a listen HERE, and give the experiment a try in your own home this weekend!

Happy drinking!
