If I ever have to put down my dog, Scout, it's gonna SUUUUUUUUUUUCK.  It's why I'm holding out hope that maybe he'll turn out as invincible as this dog!

In August, a family in Alabama dropped off their dog at their local animal shelter after he got hit by a car and they said that couldn't handle taking care of him(Who does that??? I hope their kids don't break a leg...)  A month went by and no one adopted the dog(most likely because he was injured), so the shelter decided to put him down.

A vet gave the him the lethal injection, left his body in a kennel and let staff know he was ready to be disposed of the next day.  But when staff showed up in the morning, they found the dog was not only NOT DEAD, but he was walking around in his kennel and drinking water.  That little miracle lead to the dog being put in a no-kill animal shelter and given the name "Lazerus"(like the guy in the Bible that Jesus brought back to life). Even more awesome, someone heard Lazerus' story and immediately adopted him!

Check out the rest of the story a pic of Lazerus and his new owner here!(AP)
