Dunken’s Take On The Ariana Grande Controversy

Ariana Grande is a 22-year-old, and 22 year-olds often do and say dumb things. She did both and now everyone is OUTRAGED!

I honestly don't think most people give a crap about what Ariana Grande said.  Most of the people I know have real-life issues to worry about like their next mortgage or car payment, paying for daycare, or health concerns.  If you were truly offended - here's her apology.  I think she did a good job of owning up to her 22-year-old idiocy.

Is it just me or is our world full of phony outrage now?  The media loves starting firestorms - even if they have to bend the truth or take things out of context, and people LOVE getting "likes" and "retweets" so they'll post anything - even if they don't necessarily believe it, and especially if it's a cupcake issue like a pop star saying something stupid. With all of that said here are some things that we all should be outraged by.  These are REAL problems right here in our community.

1) 8,300 kids won't have the proper school supplies to go back to school. 8,300 kids in Olmsted County. This should upset you, but you can help. Click here.

2) There are THOUSANDS of kids in our area that are undernourished!  This should upset you, but you can help. Click here.

3) There are hundreds of teenagers in Rochester that are HOMELESS.  This should upset you, but you can help. Click here.

I think social media is such a powerful tool that is often wasted on tabloid drama. We have real problems that need real solutions and wasting our time on something a silly 22 year-old said isn't going to get anything accomplished.

You can blast me for being a dopey DJ if you'd like, but I've had a ton of people ask me for my opinion so I thought I'd share it with you all.
