Eagan Police Ticket a Man for Reading While Driving

A police officer in Eagan, Minnesota spotted a guy swerving on Highway 149 last week and pulled him over. The guy wasn't drunk or texting... he was reading! 

He told the cop he was reading a James Patterson book on his tablet and that it was so good he just couldn't put it down. The cop gave him a citation for dangerous driving.

Officer Aaron Machtemes, a spokesperson for Eagan Police, said, "The nicest guy, obviously not the smartest thing to do while driving. Very dangerous. But he kind of got it, knew he made a mistake and the officer went back and ended up giving him a citation."
