Over 400 handbell musicians from Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas, and beyond will come together for a Handbell Festival Conference at the Mayo Civic Center and Arena June 22-24. The Conference is hosted by Area 7 of the Handbell Musicians of America. The event will be filled with educational classes for the registrants and making music; and culminates in a free public concert on Sunday at 1:30 in the Arena. It is quite an amazing sound to hear 400 handbell ringers in performance.
Every event hosted by Area 7 HMA has a Service Project component enabling its musicians to “give a helping hand through handbells”. For this Conference, the musicians have partnered with the local Channel One Food Bank. Concert goers are encouraged to bring a donation – cash or food - to help this important cause.
