Failed Olmsted County Jail Escape

An inmate at the Olmsted County jail may end up serving more time after a failed attempt to break out over the weekend.

Captain Scott Behrns says 20 year old Travers McDaniel broke a window in his cell that leads to the outside. But his escape attempt was thwarted because of the small size of the window and a bar that is inside the frame.

The damage was discovered during a routine check around 2 a.m. Saturday.  Behrns says McDaniel will likely face new charges.
