Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A fire broke out Sunday at a NW Rochester house.

Fire crews were sent to 2217 18 ½ ST NW around 2:30 PM and found smoke and flames coming from the rear of the house.

 

An 11-year-old girl was home at the time and she was able to get out with her dog and ran to a neighbor’s home and reported the fire. Firefighters spotted the family’s cat inside and were able to rescue the animal.

The Fire Dept. says there was “moderate damage to exterior siding, soffit, windows and the attached deck. Interior smoke and water damage throughout.” The preliminary damage estimate was put at $90,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
