Fire Hits NW Rochester Home

A fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damage to a northwest Rochester home last night.

The fire was reported around 8:30 at 16 12th street northwest, next to the Wild Goose Sports store just west of North Broadway.

 An occupant told firefighters the blaze began in the basement.

Heavy damage was reported in that part of the house.  Smoke damage affected the rest of the home.  There was also considerable content loss or damage.

 The cause of the fire is under investigation.   No injuries were reported.
