"Am I Going Down?" While it's probably the title of a naughty movie, it's also an app that determines the probability of your flight crashing!

For example, the odds of crashing on a Boeing 747 from London to New York are 1-9,000,000. There are 10 million other routes that have assessed from sources like Bureau of Aircraft Accidents Archives, the United States National Transportation Safety Board and the Civil Aviation Organization. But there are a couple catches to all those probabilities:

1.) The calculations are based not on whether there's been a crash by a plane that's flown that route, but if that plane crash resulted in any fatalities. I guess the thinking there is, if you're on a plane that crashes on that route again you'll somehow live since there were no deaths the last time it crashed?!

2.) The app came out shortly after the first Air Malaysia crash last February, so out of respect to the victims and their families, AirAsia (the parent company of Air Malaysia) is not listed. But if two Air Malaysia flights have crashed in the past year, wouldn't that be more reason to want to know if you're on a doomed flight?! It's obvious the app is meant to ease the minds of those who are nervous flyers, but what if you punch your route into the app and it says your odds of going down are like 1-50? I don't think that'd ease mind, I think that'd make me freak out and bust out the plane before it takes off!
