Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - A former University of Minnesota - Rochester chemistry professor was sentenced Wednesday for possessing child pornography.

The criminal complaint against 48-year-old Christopher DeZutter said evidence of child pornography was found on his personal computer and his UMR issued laptop when they were searched by police earlier this year.

He was originally charged with 11 counts of possession and dissemination of child pornography. As part of a plea agreement, he pleaded guilty in May to four counts of possession of child pornography.

DeZutter was placed on probation for up to 5 years and ordered to serve four months in jail. He must also perform 100 hours of community work service.

He must also register as a predatory offender and attend a sex offender program.
