Rosemount, MN (KROC-AM News) - A topper that came loose and flew off a pickup truck triggered a chain of events that ended up claiming the life of a Fillmore County man Sunday afternoon along Highway 52 on the south edge of the Twin Cities.

The State Patrol’s preliminary report indicates 18-year-old Aaron Ahlberg of Inver Grove Heights was headed south on Highway 52 when the topper flew off his Jeep Wrangler and landed on the roadway, where it was struck by a pickup driven by a 46-year-old John Ostrom of Fountain. The State Patrol says Ostrom pulled over on the left shoulder of the highway and was standing in the grass median when he was struck by a car driven by 30-year-old Sheena Harris of Mazeppa when she swerved to avoid stopped traffic.
