Has your child ever dreamed about being a pilot and flying an airplane?

Kids that are 10 to 17 years old have an amazing opportunity in Rochester on September 22nd, 2018, to fly in an airplane with an Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) pilot.  This event was a huge hit last year and 145 youth were able to fly in the sky with an experienced pilot and this year...it is happening again.

Young Eagles Rally

  • Age Range:  For kids ages 10 to 17 years old.  (Called "Young Eagle")
  • When:  September 22nd
  • Where: Rochester International Airport.  Take the "General Aviation" turn-in that is West of the airline terminal.  Look for the tent.
  • Cost:  Free
  • Time:  Plan to arrive between 8:30 am and 10:30 am. It will take about 1 1/2 hours for each "Young Eagle" from start to finish and the event is wrapping up by noon.  This is "first come, first served" and the recommendation is to arrive early.
  • Sign-in and forms:  A parent or guardian is required to sign the registration form at the rally and be with their Young Eagle throughout the day, other than the flight.

Youth will get a short course from pilots about airplanes, general info on how they work and answer questions regarding flying airplanes.  The youth will also go for an airplane ride that will last about 15 minutes and go around the Rochester area.
