How I'm changing my life with a few good decisions:

I was one of those lucky people that lost my gig in 2008. I did everything I could to keep myself afloat including put myself in major debt AND allowed my credit to take a hit. Years later I'm still telling myself, "eventually I'll start a savings account. Eventually I'll get ahead", BUT I wasn't doing anything (other than working crazy hours). That ended this year. I met someone with goals just as big as mine. He reminded me of the endless possibilities that life has. Together, we started to plan!

I remembered seeing plans and ideas on Pinterest so I start to scope it out! A LOT of the "budget plans" that I saw seemed crazy. I wanted a plan that would allow me to still have fun and occasionally spoil my family, not completely make myself a hermit until all my debt is paid off. I started with a simple budget binder. That helped me visualize what needed to be paid, and how much extra money I had for savings and/or fun.

Yesterday the man and I took a huge step forward - we consolidated our debt in a more affordable place! We are going to save THOUSANDS of dollars on interest alone. So many of us are guilty of taking advantage of those "deals" with credit card companies, thinking "we can pay it all off before the interest kicks in" and then before you know it, the interest is making your balance increase EVEN THOUGH you're paying every month. So instead of doing the same thing I had been doing for the past several years (opening a new card), we got a low interest loan, and THEN...

we had a cutting party - BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD!

The world is a huge place, and I want to see IT ALL!
