Oh sure, they may read your email and track your location on your mobile device, but Google's also cool with donating to city schools.

Perhaps its because of their unapologetic nature regarding your privacy that's got Google turning to donations and service projects get back in in good graces.  L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti announced earlier this week that Google has reached out and donated almost one million dollars, funding all 769 projects posted by teachers on DonorsChoose.org.   

Yeah, I thought I heard you ask what that was.  DonateChoose.org is a school-oriented funding site where teachers post things their students need and you can donate accordingly.

The cool thing is, Los Angeles isn't the only city that's benefited from Google's generosity.  San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Austin TX and Kansas City have all seen donations from Google, too.  No word of any Minnesota cities on that list, but if you wanna donate, here's the link again: DonorsChoose.org.
