Grandmother on Deathbed Destorys Her Fortune to Keep Her Family From Getting It

Say it ain't so!!!

Austrian authorities say an 85-year-old grandmother cut up her entire fortune on her deathbed!

Police say the woman died in a retirement home, and workers collecting her belongings discovered she had cut up over a million dollars worth of savings.  She reportedly did so to prevent her family members from cashing in.

Why she didn't want them to have it, we have no idea.

BUT, it looks like her plan may backfire...!  Austria's central bank says it will replace the cash.

As sad as this story is, maybe she did it because she died at a retirement home alone?  You never know; maybe her family was too busy with their lives to pay her any visits or even call her?

If her family truly didn't deserve this money, instead of destroying it she could have donated it to a charity she believes in, and as she was still alive, her family wouldn't be able to contest it like they could have with a Will.

I feel bad for the woman, but there are so many smarter options rather than just shredding it all...
