A picture may say a thousand words, but a stupid Facebook status is worth 1,200.

$1,200 in fines and 51 days in jail to be exact. That was the penalty for one Eddie Smith of Mineral Wells, TX, after cops were made privy to this status:

See, you don't have to be friends with police officers on Facebook, but being friends with those who hate that you're bragging about dodging warrants probably won't be any better if you're a fugitive/moron. One of those friends saw that status, flipped on Eddie, and sent a message to the Mineral Wells Police Officers Association's Facebook page. They found an address associated with Eddie, tracked him down and brought him in.

And Eddie's right, he's not badass, just a dumbass. He actually had 14 warrants instead of the 16 he claimed, for crimes ranging from expired tabs to petty theft. Check out the rest of the story and what arresting officers think of Mr. Smith's Facebook status here (Star-Telegram).
