Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Two people entered into plea agreements today in Olmsted County court in separate drug cases involving significant amounts of methamphetamine.

26-year-old José Rojas admitted to a first-degree drug possession charge and is scheduled to be sentenced on August 8th. The California man was arrested in November after Rochester police were alerted to a suspicious FedEx shipment that was being delivered to a room at a downtown Rochester hotel. The package contained 2.8 pounds of meth with a street value of almost $130,000 and Rojas was the person who took delivery of the shipment.

A 40-year-old Rochester woman also entered a guilty plea to a first-degree drug charge. Marci Maklenburg and 39-year-old Michael Mechtel were arrested in January after police executed a search warrant at a residence near the Rochester Boys and Girls Club and found almost 500 grams of methamphetamine. The street value of the drugs was estimated at around $27,000.

Both were free on bail at the time after being arrested during a drug raid at the same residence in November. Mechtel pleaded guilty in the case last month and is scheduled to be sentenced next month. The sentencing hearing for Maklenburg is scheduled on June 8th.
